How should we split our wedding budget?
A common starting point gives the venue about 22%, catering 22%, photo and video 12%, attire 8% and flowers 8%, with smaller shares for music, decor, stationery, beauty, transport, rings and gifts. Move money towards what matters most to you.
What isn't in the split?
The honeymoon, and anything else you decide on: the split leaves 1% of the total for them.
Is this split right for where we live?
Prices vary a lot between countries and cities, so treat the shares as a first draft and adjust them once real quotes come in. In Bridewell you can change any category target at any time, and only the people you give financial access ever see the amounts.
