Before you start
- Save or export the list as a CSV file (comma or tab separated). Most spreadsheet apps and wedding sites can export one.
- Keep one row per guest or per household, with a header row naming the columns. Files up to 2 MB are fine.
- No spreadsheet yet? Fill in the free guest list template and download it — its columns match the import.
Import the file
- Open your wedding and go to Guests.
- Open the actions menu and choose Import CSV, then pick your file.
- Check how the columns were matched. Bridewell recognises common header names in English and Norwegian; change any column, or set it to Ignore.
- Review the preview and choose Add. The guests appear in your list at once.
No header row? Each line is then read like a pasted name, so a plain list of names imports too.
Columns Bridewell reads
| Column | Header names it matches |
|---|---|
| Full name | Name, Full name, Guest |
| First and last name | First name, Last name, Surname |
| Household | Household, Family, Party name |
| Party size | Party size, Party, Guests, Seats, Count |
| Plus-one | Plus one, +1 |
| Side | Side |
| RSVP | RSVP, Status, Attending, Response |
| Email and phone | Email, Phone, Mobile |
| Address | Address, Mailing address |
| Dietary needs and meal | Dietary, Allergies, Meal, Menu |
| Notes | Notes, Comments |
Columns Bridewell doesn't know — a group or an A/B list, for example — are left out. Keep them in your spreadsheet, or add them to Notes before you import.
Limits
The free plan holds up to 20 guests. If a file has more, Bridewell adds what fits and tells you how many were skipped; nothing already in your list changes. Premium removes the cap, and you can import the rest afterwards.
Only people who can edit guests can import. Partners and planners can by default; see roles and access.
